Today’s generation mostly lives in apartments that have small balconies. You can decorate your balcony using various plants to turn it into a cozy place where you can spend time watering the plants and watching the city view.

By doing that, you will have a new gardening hobby as well. Follow the below things to create a cozy balcony garden.

Cover the floor with artificial grass
First of all, you have to focus on the floor of your balcony. A luxurious, decent, thick, and lush green lawn is crucial to get the real garden feel. So, buy some artificial grass from the nearby gardening store and use it to cover the balcony floor.

Focus on the balcony walls
You will want to fill the balcony walls with plants so that they will give cozy vibes. Grow creepers and climbing plants on one wall to help cover most of the area in lush greenery.

On the other wall, attach wooden stands and grow blossoming plants, either climbers or tiny pot plants. Besides that, if you want, you can assemble a small built-in cabinet to your balcony where you can store items related to plants.

Keep plants on the balcony
You can grow plants like aloe vera, rose, pansy, chrysanthemum, tomato, and others in pots and place them near the balcony railings. It is best to use medium-sized plants to cover the front part of your balcony.

Cover the corners
Many people often leave the balcony corners empty. But, you will want to fill up the balcony corners with plants to create a more cozy garden. For that, buy a three or four-row corner plant stand.

You can keep tiny plants in ceramic pots in the flower stand, such as asparagus fern, spider plant, jade plant, and more.

Bougainvillea for the balcony railing
You can not miss out on the Bougainvillea plant if you want to have a cozy garden. This Bougainvillea plant covers almost the entire balcony railing space as it can grow from one end to the other end.

Besides that, this plant gives a precious and sweet vibe to your home and is picturesque. The bougainvillea plant grows either in white or hot pink colors. If you want to give a unique and spectacular appeal to your cozy balcony, grow this plant in both colors and mix the branches together. This will create a beautiful mix of white and pink flowers.

Other balcony railing plants to consider
If you are not interested in the Bougainvillea plant you can buy pots that can be directly attached to the balcony railing. In those pots, you can grow low-maintenance plants, creepers, and also different succulent plants.

Hanging pot plants
Assemble hooks to the balcony’s ceiling. After that, you can attach the small hanging baskets (pots) to the hook. You can grow tiny flowering plants, ornamental plants in small bowls, such as Pothos, English ivy, orchids, Tillandsia, cactus, Burro’s Tail, and many more.

Growing the hanging plants tends to add a gorgeous look to your entire balcony. If birds often fly in your home surroundings, you can keep food or water for them next to the hanging plants.

Install a mini table
Even after decorating with plants, if your balcony still has some space, it is best to keep a mini table in the middle of your balcony. Whenever you have time, you can make a homemade dinner and eat in your cozy garden underneath the stars. Sounds fantastic, right?

Bottom Line
You can decorate your tiny balcony with different types of small and medium-sized plants to turn it into a cozy garden. Lastly, make sure to take care of and water your plants for a beautiful garden that will last.
